i looked and kept looking

my latest written work i looked and kept looking is available now on blurb.com.

i looked and kept looking is a short collection of writings written in response to the mountains, waters, flowers and pups that met me in iceland from reykjavik to akureyri and back again.

it was a sunday, about two weeks after being in iceland. i had just finished photographing my dried flowers from the trip and my journal that i filled while being there was begging to be put in print. i sifted through my drawings and writings to make this short collection in just one night. it flew out of me, and i can’t tell you how good it felt to make something that felt so right every step of the way. creative work doesn’t always feel that way, so it was a welcomed surprise.

my trip to iceland this summer shook me in the best way. all the calloused parts of my tired heart were softened and soothed by the silence, views, and rushing waters - i’m honestly still not over it.

i looked and kept looking is me at my most content. it’s joy. it’s longing. it’s rest. it’s for me. it’s for you. it’s for anybody who needs a taste of stillness, quiet, and calm.

it’s thirty-six pages of dried flowers photos and writings that will take you back to that magical island with me.

keep it on your bedside table or take it to the beach, or the coffee shop for a light read, or lay out a blanket at the park and exhale deeply with me.

I have it listed on blurb.com. you can order on their site and it will ship straight to you. so shop small with me and buy one for you and yours.

i hope this found you well and that you’re able to keep coming back to what makes your heart feel light.

xoxo,

jg
