just a photographer turned potter making ceramics with a whole lot of love and a little bit of wonk.

every wonky work is either handbuilt or wheel thrown then trimmed, glazed, and fired by me, jamie! each piece is unique, one-of-kind and will show the marks of their maker. they are quirky, functional pieces that are ready to slide right into your every day routines.

i had no plans for this to happen, but i guess that’s how the best things typically come to be. the process of making ceramics has helped me see the world differently, breathe a little deeper, and get a real good understanding of patience and the art of letting go. from ball of clay to finished mug, i am humbled by it all.

after taking a course at crealde in spring 2021, i quickly fell in love with pottery and haven’t stopping making since. i am currently developing my skills, honing in my style, and landing on what pieces bring me the most joy. in our society, it’s so easy for a hobby to go from creative + therapeutic outlet into hustling + burnout, so i’m trying to refrain from that by working within my creative and physical limits. setting boundaries has helped me stick to only making what lights me up, keeping the batches small and remaining present in the process of it all.

for now, i update the goodlight goods online shop with the pieces that spark joy in me on occasion. along with the occasional pop-up around town, i offer shipping (usa only) and local pickup when the shop is open. keeping it irregular allows me to create pressure-free pieces at whatever pace i’m currently feeling. this way it stays fun while i continue to discover what being a ceramicist means to me.
