denver in the summer
back in march my husband and i planned a long weekend trip to denver because we needed nature and its healing powers. at the beginning of this month we finally went and it was the trip our tired selves longed for.
bobby is the best travel bud, we really work well together and after a long year it felt good to be back at it again. a true blessing to be able to take a little trip like this and to be off on our own, away from all the noise.
i normally pack my dslr and lenses for a trip, but wanting less weight and more flexibility i only brought my little cam with me. what a great investment, i’m so pleased with the quality and can’t wait to see the photos in the photo book i made.
places we visited:
in Fort Collins, but worth the drive for the dreamy views and access to the water.
nothing like it. went up to the lookout and hiked for a bit. so lush and beautiful.
a trail we saw on the way to another spot, that turned out to be our favorite. we sat by the creek, waded in the freezing water and wanted for nothing.
paved trail by the water. someone on alltrails said it’s great for when grandma comes to town, so i felt I could handle it.
yummy food we ate:
so good we went multiple times. bagel sammies allll day please.
must have baked goods at the denver central market. ate my hunky dory by a creek and was completely content.
delicious ramen. craving it right now.
great bbq right next to the bar, our mutual friends. you can order it and eat at it at omf which made me so happy.
all great coffee ( and matcha) spots. with good food and pastries too.
forever grateful for nature and its healing powers.
i know we just barely touched the surface of all the beauty that state has to offer, and that’s why i’m ready to be back again.
( also, i am really loving that we started the summer hiking in colorado and we’ll end it hiking in iceland, just before i officially launch your goodlight in august.)
exciting things to come, so stay tuned for that!
