a trip to bar citra + address coffee in st. augustine, fl

it was a breezy sunny day when we decided to take up trip up the coast to the oldest city to get out of our normal element and drop into the rhythms of a different environment. this little trip led us to a coffee shop by day + wine bar by night that i left wishing was in our neighborhood so i could be a regular. there’s something about thoughtful design, good food/drinks and lovely service that makes for a place that you want to stay at for hours on a sunday afternoon turned sunday evening.

as someone whose business is run from their home, it is easy for me to feel like i technically could always be working. sometimes the only thing that allows for real rest is putting miles in between me and that space. this trip reminded me of that because i felt able to drop my shoulders take a deep breath and simply enjoy my new surroundings which looked like:

devouring a cardamom bun that i now think about daily, sitting across from my husband enjoying his company, sipping on a lavender matcha, and snapping pictures because this place was too good not to.

the photographer in me who had been quiet for a bit due to the busy holiday ceramics season, was let loose and had such a good time seeing something fresh and new through my camera lens

i’m learning that rest doesn’t always look like a nap on the couch, it can also look like a day spent trying something new.
